Reeds in 1633 gaf Jan H.van Stralen les op de dorpsschool naast de Kerk. Na ± 100 jaar moest deze vervangen worden. In 1906 werd de bestaande school gebouwd, na 1967 werd de naam "Parkschool" in 1969 werd de nieuwbouw aan de van Schendelstraat betrokken. De oude school aan de Dubbelsteynlaan werd toen een bibliotheek welke in febr. 1978 open ging. 2014 ging de bieb wegens bezuiniging weer dicht. Nu is het "De Oude school" met diverse culturele activiteiten.
