Dat blijk echter niet zo te zijn. De schijn werd gewekt doordat de foto behoorlijk was ingezoomd, het bord staat op de hoek van de versmalling aan het water, te weten ter hoogte van het pand Vest 156-158 (92(pakhuis)-94(kantoor)), welke naar achteren aan het water staan en welke in 1977 door de gemeente werden aangekocht van Natuursteenbedrijf Van der Mijle. (552_320008) Het bord was denk ik bedoeld om bekend te maken dat het bedrijf zich zou gaan verplaatsen naar de Reaumurstraat 5, waar ze vandaag de dag nog steeds, gelukkig, te vinden zijn, want van de vele steenhouwerijen die Dordrecht eens rijk was, zijn zij als enige overgebleven. Eerdere en andere kantoren/magazijnen/werkplaatsen/woonhuizen van Van Der Mijle waren te vinden aan de Dubbeldamseweg 7-9, Marthinus Steijnstraat 36 (nu 96) en de Kromme Elleboog C 1480 / 46zw, het latere 72 en Kromme Elleboog 85 (magazijn)/87 en Kromme Elleboog C 1489/ 64zw, later 98. Ik denk dat Gerrit van der Mijle Sr. geb. 31-12-1889 de grondlegger van het bedrijf is geweest. Zijn ouders, Reinier Andries van der Mijle en Pieternella van Efferen woonden aan de Vest 61h, daar waar ook Gerrit werd geboren. De grootouders van Gerrit waren Reinier Andries van der Mijle en Anna Maria Barbara Walk en zijn overgrootmoeder was Barbera van der Mijle . Ik dwaal wel erg af :)
