van vrijdag 27 januari 1933: - OH DE VOETGANGERS. - Gisteravond om even over tien uur reed de chauffeur-expediteur M. H. G. uit Den Haag met een zeswielige verhuisauto op den Krispijnscheweg in de richting naar den over- weg, met een snelheid van ongeveer 25 K.M. per uur. Ter hoogte van de Watermolenweide wilde de 30-jarige winkelier J.J. v. S. den rijweg oversteken en verliet plotseling het trottoir, zonder zich tevoren te hebben over- tuigd of dit zonder gevaar kon gebeuren. Op den rijweg schrok hij van het signaal, door G. gegeven. v. S. bleef midden op den rijweg staan, waarom G. het stuur een weinig naar rechts wendde. Evenwel liep v. S. even later door; om een aanrijding te voorkomen moest de chauffeur het stuur met kracht naar links draaien. S. werd echter nog door het rechter voorspatbord geraakt en viel, doch bekwam ge- lukkig geen noemenswaard letsel. Door de plotselinge wending naar links was het voor den bestuurder niet meer mogelijk het stuur weer om te draaien, tengevolge waarvan de auto het trottoir opliep, de tractor het ijzeren hek vernielde en in de sloot terecht kwam. De bestuurder werd niet ernstig in het gelaat ver- wond, terwijl een mede-inzittende geen letsel bekwam. Het ongeval is nog bijzonder goed afgeloopen, doch het had ernstiger kunnen zijn. Hier blijkt weder dat de voetgangers de hoognoodige voor- zichtigheid moeten betracht bij het oversteken van de straat. Had S. uitgekeken, dan zou er niets gebeurd zijn.
Het Haags 'Gemeentelijk Electrisch Bedrijf' moest nog een rechtsgeding aanspannen vanwege het niet betalen van Fl.38,91 wegens het aanrijden door een haar in eigendom toebehorend motorrijtuig van een lantaarnpaal der openbare elektrische verlichting, staande in de Badhuisstraat. Verder nog een advertentie uit de Haagsche Courant van 3-08-1940: "GAAT U VERHUIZEN? 't Voordeligst naar en van binnen- en buitenland is A. en J.M.H Gemmink, Jan Blankenstraat 56-68. Tel. 110176.
