Deze akte, opgesteld en ondertekend door de rest van het Dordtse stadsbestuur, is te zien op 552_407560. Van dbnl.org: Ary Johannes Lamme 1812-1900, Cornelis de Witt wordt gedwongen het Eeuwig Edict te herroepen, Paneel, 102 × 83 cm, Gesigneerd: A.J. Lamme, Datering: ca. 1849-'52. Dordrecht, Museum Mr. Simon van Gijn. In het schilderij is precies hetzelfde moment uitgebeeld als in het stuk van Scholten. Lamme heeft echter veel meer dan Scholten geprobeerd de dreiging van de situatie duidelijk te maken. De met oranje sjerpen getooide bezoekers kijken boos op De Witt en zijn gezin neer, terwijl de commandant van de schutterij hem bars aanspoort nu maar te tekenen. Door het raam is de toren te zien van de Grote Kerk van Dordrecht en glinsteren de pieken van schutters. Lamme heeft dit schilderij waarschijnlijk in of kort voor 1852 vervaardigd. In dat jaar werd het aangekocht door het museum in zijn geboortestad Dordrecht. Behalve door het feit dat de scène zich juist in die stad heeft afgespeeld heeft misschien ook de revolutie van 1848 in Parijs een aanleiding gevormd voor Lamme om dit thema te kiezen. In die stad woonde zijn neef, de in die tijd zeer beroemde schilder Ary Scheffer, die de revolutie van zeer nabij had meegemaakt, en uit de correspondentie met hem blijkt wel dat Lamme zeer sterk door de gebeurtenissen was aangegrepen. Vandaar misschien dat Lamme zich niet zoals Scholten en Hollander in zijn compositie heeft aangesloten bij het prentje van Vinkeles naar J. Buys (Atlas fm, nr. 2371), dat als illustratie dient bij het Vaderlandsch Woordenboek van Kok (zie cat.nr. 115), maar meer de nadruk heeft gelegd op de aanwezigheid van de oproerige burgers. Kramm schrijft dat het schilderij zeer is geroemd door de kunstenaars, maar in de kritiek zijn er nauwelijks reakties op het stuk geweest.
