Net voorbij de Renault 4, het huidige Cinema de Movies. Het pand met het gevelbord van de Staatsloterij is Nieuwstraat 52. Links daarvan, nummer 50 geeft toegang middels een poort tot de Kloostertuin. Wanneer je goed kijkt, ontwaar je in het derde pand (44) een gevelsteen met de naam "Pictura" wat er ook nog steeds staat. Alvorens zuster (majoor) De Dreu de voormalige villa van Van Gijn aan de Johan de Wittstraat 10 introk wat door het Leger des Heils van de familie was aangekocht, had ze hier in dit pand, genaamd "Pictura" de zorg over 18 bejaarden. In 1909 begon ze met die mooie werk op een bovenwoning elders in de Nieuwstraat. In 1924 kreeg ze de beschikking over het "Pictura" pand en in 1935 over het veel riantere "Avondzon" aan de Johan de Wittstraat 10. Het pand "Pictura" in de Nieuwstraat werd door enige leden van het tekengenootschap in 1796 voor eigen rekening aangekocht en verbleef daar tot 1829. Daarna vertrok naar de benedenlokalen van de Heelhaaksdoel. Het Tekengenootschap "Pictura" begon op 1 oktober 1774 in de Blauwpoort en heeft sindsdien vele malen moeten verkassen. =================================================================== De panden (puien) links daarvan zijn ingewisseld voor die van de overkant.
