Lachen zeg! Dus tóch een gymzaal! :) Zie hiervoor 552_305724. Het aantal ramen in het uitspringende deel is gewijzigd van 4 naar 3 met de renovatie? Zie hiervoor 552_324508 . Luchtfoto: 555_30235 (Wat ik bij 552_350662 op de achtergrond zie staan, lijkt niet overeen te komen met wat ik hier op de luchtfoto zie. Wat ik wél meen te kunnen zien, zijn die op de dakgoot getimmerde planken.
Het gebouw op de achtergrond is de -inmiddels lang gesloopte- school die vroeger een groot deel van de Kloostertuin in beslag nam, en zijn ingang in de Hofstraat had (zie meerdere foto/luchtfoto's elders op de Beeldbank).
Het kippengaas en de witgekalkte ruiten vind ik niet zo bij een school passen. In eerste instantie (en dat schreef ik ook) moest ik aan de Christelijke HBS (met de Joodse school op de achtergrond) denken, maar de verschillen zijn te groot. Is er iemand die weet wat voor een V-vormige vlaggenmast? er op dat lagere achterliggende gebouw staat? Kan dat een aanwijzing zijn? En wat stelt dat timmerwerk op de goot voor? Is dat ter bescherming tegen de afvallige dakpan?
Een gymlokaal dan? Van 1910 tot 1972 zat de Keuringsdienst van Waren in het voormalige schoolgebouw van de HBS aan de nieuwstraat 38, later 60. Ik moest in eerste instantie aan de oude Christelijke HBS denken, de ruimte tussen Wijnstraat en Varkenmarkt.
