PROMOTOR VAN EMMA. In het ziekenhuis te Ginniken, waar hij sinds eenigen tijd verpleegd werd, is hedennacht in den ouderdom van 57 jaren overleden de heer L. P. A. J. Wyers, in leven directeur van de N. V. Vereenigde Distilleerderijen H. C. Wyers, en voorzitter directeur van het Dordtsche Vrij-Entrepot. De heer Wyers was een bekende persoonlijkheid in Dordrecht. Hij bekleedde tal van functies, waarvan echter die van beschermheer van de voetbalvereniging Emma hem het naast aan het hart lag. Hij was de promotor van deze club en stellig is het voor een goed deel aan hem te danken geweest, dat de spelers van het eerste elftal hun prestaties zoo opvoerden, dat Emma kampioen van haar afdeeling werd en daarna promoveerde naar die 1e klasse van den N.V.B. Gedurende 10 jaar is de overledene penning- meester van het Sportpark Reeweg geweest, in welke functie hij zich buitengewoon verdienstelijk gemaakt heeft. Hij was medeoprichter van de voetbalvereniging„Willem II”. De Ned.
