Benieuwd wie het gemaakt heeft.
Over het kerkdak, ik kan me wel goed vinden in Pims laatste opmerking. Ik heb me altijd afgevraagd hoe die vernieuwing van het dak in 1610 geplaatst moet worden. Een reparatie, of volledige herbouw? Dat laatste lijkt me onwaarschijnlijk door wat er vanuit bouwhistorische kringen waargenomen is. Wijlen bouwhistoricus Herman Janse komt in zijn studie naar middeleeuwse kappen in Nederland voor de Grote Kerk op het derde kwart 15e eeuw, vooral vanuit stijlkenmerken. Dendrochronlogische resultaten zullen er ook zijn maar ken ik niet, en sluiten hergebruik later niet uit. Zouden die sporen van een lagere kap die nog in de torenwand zichtbaar zijn betrekking kunnen hebben op de situatie voor 1457? Afijn, tijd voor een overkoepelend verhaal?
