Toen Bedaf naar Crabbehof is gegaan is Willemse vis er in gekomen.Later is deze winkel naar J.P Heijeplein gegaan.
De reclamespreuk rechtsboven luidde: "Vis van Bedaf is áf " Wij kochten er op vrijdagen ( volgens mijn moeder was er op vrijdag vanwege katholieke gebruiken altijd verse vis) ; prima kabeljauw en scholletjes.
Over abuis gesproken, het huisnummer was 20zw/36. Op het P.J. Heijeplein had je vroeger op nummer 1 inderdaad de D.M.I. zitten, later kwam daar een viswinkel in wat nog steeds het geval is. Een tijdje hielp ik vroeger de melkboer. Was geweldig op die ijzeren hond, een overbeladen kar met een knetterende motor op het volledig rond te draaien voorwiel. Aan het eind van de ronde ging het lege fust, inclusief de melkbussen met messing tapkranen links van het D.M.I. pandje een soort van spoelruimte in waar de stoomwolken je tegemoet kwamen. Uiteraard kreeg ik er geen ene cent voor maar het werd me toegestaan onderweg zo'n half liter glazen flesje vanille- of chocoladevla te consumeren, iets wat ik thuis niet kreeg, daar kreeg ik bloem- of gortepap. Ben ik ook gewoon groot van geworden hoor :)
Recht tegen overTroost verfwinkel, ík kwam er elke dag vierkeer langs om naar school te gaan en weer terug.Ze hadden ook een ijzerenhond om langs de straaten te gaan om vis te verkopen. Op een gegeven moment hadden ze een oven in de winkel laten plaatsen om vis te bakken, maar daar kregen ze problemen mee met de boven buurman die leraar was op een lagere school omdat de baklucht bij hem naar binnen kwam.
