Leuk geprobeerd natuurlijk, maar het werd niet toegezegd maar van tafel geveegd. Je mocht daar niet eens afmeren want bij laag water kwamen de schepen vast te zitten en bovendien was het te smal. Voor het dempen van de haven in 1932 is wel alle tijd genomen wat te maken had met lage budgetten en het voor de omwonenden soepel te laten verlopen. In de monding, voorbij de Witteleeuwsbrug, zie je op de foto nu wel een scheepje liggen wat w.s. getolereerd werd vanwege de blokkade in de haven, veroorzaakt door het gekapseisde scheepje met schroot.
Spieringhaven alhier, een bak met oud ijzer, behoorende aan de firma J. C, alhier, omgeslagen. Bij het omslaan is de mast terecht gekomen op de sloep van W. v. d. G., alhier, welk vaartuig onmiddellijk zonk.
