Dhr. J. A. van Tilburg, de directeur van de stoomhoutzagerij en houthandel "De Nagtegaal" wilde zijn kinderen graag iets in het leven meegeven en stichtte voor zijn dochter Nonnie de Kweekerij Noordhove aan de Groenendijk 30a.
