Ook zijn de panden links achteraan op de nummers 93 en 95 (en het pandje rechts ervan) ook duidelijk te herkennen. Het staat als een paal boven water dat dit de Sint Petrus' Banden kerk aan de Kerkstraat 116, te Gilze is, onherkenbaar t.o.v. de foto, maar hieronder staat beschreven hoe dat dit tot stand gekomen is. En ja, deze afbeelding is inderdaad van vóór 1940, het Regionaal Archief Tilburg spreekt van ca. 1925. == Ik heb heel wat uurtjes (zeg maar dagen) zoeken in dit plaatje gestoken en het nooit kunnen vinden, ben er dus wel blij mee dat u me in Gilze bracht :) . Maar ben nu echt klaar met brainstormen wat dit plaatje aangaat, voor mij staat het vast :)
Bij de beschrijving van de eerste, waarvan de afbeelding identiek is, staat: =================================================================== "Datum: 1925, Fotonummer: 057856, Plaats: Gilze, Uiterlijke vorm: Ansichtkaart, Omschrijving: Gilze R.K. kerk en pas verbouwd patronaat omstreeks 1925." =================================================================== Bij de beschrijving van de tweede, waar het duidelijk is dat het om dezelfde kerk gaat, staat: =================================================================== "Datum: 1904, Fotonummer: 057878, Plaats: Gilze, Straat: Kerkstraat, Uiterlijke vorm: ansichtkaart, Omschrijving: Gilze, kerk St. Petrus Banden. =================================================================== Met bovenstaande informatie (gelijk aan die in mijn vorig gekrabbel) is het verder niet moeilijk meer om op de Kerkstraat 116, 5126 GD te Gilze uit te komen. Daar vinden we de Sint Petrus' Banden kerk. De kerk die daar momenteel staat heeft wel overeenkomsten met de kerk op 'ons' plaatje, maar hij is het niet. Of er moeten wel héél ingrijpende dingen zijn gebeurd, wat natuurlijk niet onmogelijk is. Fijn is, dat het pand hier op de voorgrond, er nog steeds staat. Daarom nog even een StreetView-linkje om h.e.e.a. nog duidelijker te maken. =================================================================== https://goo.gl/maps/7NjuDNCsHcT2 =================================================================== Op de website van Het Brabants Historisch Informatie Centrum (bhic) verteld Jan Brouwers het verhaal waaruit blijkt dat er inderdaad héél ingrijpende dingen zijn gebeurd : =================================================================== "Aan de buitenkant van de kerk van Petrus’ Banden in Gilze staat het jaartal 1617. Toen werd de herbouw voltooid van de kerk die in 1584 was verwoest. Dat was gebeurd als gevolg van de oorlogshandelingen rond Gilze. Van de kerk uit 1617 is weinig meer over. Van 1880 tot 1882 en vervolgens ook nog eens in de jaren 1931-1932 werd de kerk flink uitgebreid om het groeiend aantal parochianen te kunnen herbergen. =================================================================== In 1944 werd het gebouw opnieuw slachtoffer van oorlogsgeweld: Duitse troepen bliezen de toren op die vervolgens op het schip van de kerk viel. Na herstelwerkzaamheden en een noodzakelijke uitbreiding kon de kerk in 1952 in zijn huidige vorm in gebruik worden genomen. =================================================================== Wel was er zo veel veranderd aan het gebouw dat het ondanks zijn ouderdom niet tot rijksmonument kon worden verklaard.
