In 1959, vlak voor de sloop van de villa, toen deze nog door de Julianaschool als school gebruikt werd zag het interieur van de gang er niet meer zo romantisch uit als op onze foto. De gang met de monumentale trap herinner ik me nog. Ook herinner ik me het klaslokaal als knus en romantisch, vooral tegen de Kerstdagen. De zwarte potkachel in de hoek, waarvan gold: wie het dichts bij het vuur zit warmt zich het best. Op de houten eiken banken met gietijzeren onderstel mocht elke leerling voorzichtig een kaarsje branden bij gesloten blinden die aan de binnenzijde van de raamkozijnen nog aanwezig waren. Naast de lessenaar van de meester stond een emmer water voor het geval als er onverhoopt iets mis zou gaan. Na de sloop in 1959 werd op deze locatie aan de straatzijde een tweede schoolvleugel gebouwd die nagenoeg identiek was aan het reeds in ca. 1955 (?), achter de villa gelegen, gebouwde schoolgebouw. Beide vleugels liepen parallel en werden met een lage smalle verbindingsgang ,opgebouwd uit glaspuien, verbonden.
