Geschiedenis Het Pietermankerkje is het enig overgebleven gebouw van het dorp Heer Oudelands Ambacht. De naam Pieterman is mogelijk ontleend aan een 17e eeuwse schout die ook eigenaar was van de herberg, die in de buurt van de kerk stond. De kerk is waarschijnlijk gebouwd in de 14e eeuw, waarschijnlijk rond 1334 en daarmee is de kerk de oudste kerk van de Zwijndrechtse Waard. Archeologisch onderzoek wees uit dat in de 15e eeuw de kerk ingrijpend is veranderd. Fundamenten zijn gevonden buiten het bouwwerk en deze tonen een groter schip dan het huidige. In 1790 is de kerk verbeterd en verfraaid, en in 1839 behoorlijk gerestaureerd, grof maar praktisch. [https://depieterman.com/]
