Tollens, reeds in dienst, werd bedrijfsleider. 14 februari 1890 neemt Tollens het bedrijf van Hameter over. Hij blijft tot 1896 van de naam Hameter gebruik maken. In 1910/1911 werd er i.o.v. Tollens een nieuw woonhuis en atelier aan het Vrieseplein (1) gebouwd. 1 mei 1911 trok Tollens er in. Het pand Voorstraat 289/291, op de hoek van de Visbrug werd in oktober 1911 in een advertentie van Waltman & Co te koop aangeboden. Eerst zit Jacob Stuvé met een assortiment nougat tijdelijk op nr 291. Dan, zaterdag 7 juni 1913 is er een opening van een nieuwe zaak van Hoffotograaf Hameter op het oude vertrouwde adres op de Voorstraat 289/291 in dat hoekpand bij de Visbrug. Hoe dat nu precies zit weet ik niet. In 1923 verkoopt Tollens zijn filiaal in Dordrecht (Hij had ook filialen in Eindhoven en Roermond) aan Hermanus Johannes Eickholt en Hermanus Gerardus Beerman. Vanaf dan werkt men met de naam atelier Schreurs, (naar fotograaf André Schreurs die garant staat voor een deel van de hypotheekaflossing). In 1963 liet ik door Hameter een portretfoto maken voor mijn vriendin die naar het ziekenhuis moest. Hij werkte met een diepdruk beeldmerk, om copi-eren van zijn fotoafdrukken te vóórkomen. Foto is nog steeds puntgaaf.
