Vuilendam is een buurtschap in de provincie Zuid-Holland, in de streek Alblasserwaard, gemeente Molenwaard. T/m 1985 deels gemeente Brandwijk, deels gemeente Molenaarsgraaf, deels gemeente Ottoland. In 1986 over naar gemeente Graafstroom, in 2013 over naar gemeente Molenwaard. De buurtschap Vuilendam valt, ook voor de postadressen, onder 3 dorpen, te weten Brandwijk, Molenaarsgraaf en Ottoland. Bijzonder (en bijzonder fraai!) is dat ieder deel is voorzien van eigen plaatsnaamborden, met de respectievelijke dorpsnamen in blauw (komborden) en eronder de buurtschapsnaam Vuilendam in wit, zodat je je ter plekke ook bewust wordt van de bijzondere grens-situatie, én kunt zien welk deel onder welk dorp valt.
