Het stond eerder in de lengte hartlijn van het plein. Rechts het "Huis de Merwede" aan de Oranjestraat 1. Links naast het standbeeld, achter de vlaggenmasten de Nederlands Hervormde Kerk, met het torentje van Kerkstraat nr. 8 RECHTS naast de kerktoren. Iets wat je bijna niet terug ziet op foto's. Op de meeste foto's zie je het links van de kerktoren.
