"DORDRECHT — Het uit Apeldoorn afkomstige kunstwerk van Evert Strobos - dat in april dit jaar langs de Rondweg werd geplaatst lijkt ook in Dordrecht geen rust te krijgen. De zogenaamde pylonen, die over een afstand van 350 meter langs de weg staan, zijn met witte verf beklad en de negatieve publiciteit brengt de tongen regelmatig in beweging. Ambtenaar D. Wolf van de Commissie Coördinatie Kunstbeleid (CCK) van de gemeente Dordrecht, kan zich kwaad maken over de telkens negatieve berichtgeving rond het kunstwerk. Het feit, dat de pylonen beschilderd worden „past nu eenmaal bij onze tijd", aldus Wolf, „en hier hebben wij er van tevoren rekening mee gehouden". Berichten als dat het kunstwerk met pech achtervolgd wordt vindt Wolf tendentieus. „De enige, tegenslag die we hebben is dat het met de gezondheid van Evert Strobos lange tijd niet goed ging. Hierdoor zijn de pylonen nog steeds niet goed op hun plaats gezet", zo verweert Wolf zich. De extra kosten die tot nu toe 3600 gulden bedragen zijn deels voorzien en deels het gevolg van onvoorziene tegenslagen. „De werkzaamheden bij het plaatsen van het kunstwerk werden vertraagd doordat de afzetting niet in orde bleek", aldus Wolf, die vertelt dat dit de gemeente 1600 gulden kostte. De extra kosten voor het maaien tussen de pylonen en het schoonmaken daarvan, waren voorzien. Het schoonmaken en rechtzetten van de pylonen zal volgens Wolf binnen afzienbare tijd plaatsvinden. „Ik ben pas nog bij Evert Strobos in Hengelo geweest en hij is aan de beterende hand. We willen graag wachten tot hij erbij kan zijn en dan is het binnen enkele dagen voor elkaar". "Het kunstwerk van Evert Strobos is aan Dordrecht geschonken door de gemeente Apeldoorn en heeft 180.000 gulden gekost. In Apeldoorn bleek het kunstwerk ongewenst. Toen het aan de Laan van Zevenhuizen opgesteld werd, kwamen er protesten van wijkbewoners en werden de pylonen onophoudelijk met verf besmeurd.
