Vanaf de brug ook een mooi overzicht. Zie 554_32924.
De boogbrug in de verte is inmiddels vervangen (Simon de Danserweg). Afbeelding 552_315657 geeft een redelijk beeld van de situatie. Langs de bovenrand ter hoogte van de bomenrij is de Rijksstraatweg. Achter die bomen, net iets rechts van de schoorsteen van de stikstoffabriek zien we Merelhof. Vooral het bijgebouw is goed te herkennen. Tegenover Merelhof de voor de A16 opgeofferde boerderij.
Van het bouwjaar Merelhof ben ik niet meer zo zeker omdat ik nu ook aanwijzingen voor het jaar 1922 zie. De villa staat, naar het zuiden gezien, aan de linker kant van de voormalige Rijksstraatweg, aan de rechterkant stond een boerderij die moest wijken voor de A16. Nadat het adres van Merelhof sinds de bouw Rijksstraatweg (hoek Crabbeweg) was, is het ook Zeilweg (61) geweest. De stukjes (Rijks)straatweg die vanwege de aanleg van de A16 verdwenen, werden Wieldrechtseweg, Mijlweg, Amstelwijckseweg, Zeilweg en Admiraal de Ruyterweg genoemd. Het huidige adres van de villa is Admiraal de Ruyterweg 142. Er wordt hier over afbeelding 555_16340 gesproken n.a.v. Merelhof. Toevallig dat er ook een 554_36340 ? Merelhof afbeelding is!?
Volgens mij is de foto-richting noordwaarts en was de beschrijving juist. Wie weet beter ?
