In de Goeverneurstraat ben ik nooit binnen geweest en de Bankastraat ken ik alleen als buurthuis en wijkcentrum. Maar de verticale middenstrip op de deuren van deze foto komt overeen met de vier interieurfoto's van het badhuis. Meer uitleg: 554_10004
554_10004 zou ook het badhuis in de J.J.A. Goeverneurstraat zijn, maar ik herinner het me niet zo. Met name de deuren waren anders. Maar wanneer ik bij 556_1078 naar het grote ronde centrale bovenlicht kijk, dan zie je dat op 554_10004 precies zo terug. Deze foto, de gang dus, kan ik me niet voorstellen dat die daar was, ondanks dat het interieur grote gelijkenis vertoont. Wanneer je in de Gouverneurstraat in het badhuis binnenstapte, had je eerst een soort van hal en daarna kwam je in het badhuis zelf. Ik zou me kunnen voorstellen dat deze gang wel aan het badhuis aan de Bankastraat toebehoort. De hoofdingang in en dan meteen naar rechts of links. Je hebt daar ook van die rechthoekige dakvensters. Mocht het wél in de J.J.A. Goeverneurstraat geweest zijn, dan is het i.i.g. geen gang waar je doorheen moest om in het eigenlijk badhuis te komen.
Soms hoor ik de man met de brandslang nog hard op de deur bonzen en 'schreeuwen' dat het tijd is! :) En hij kon het weten, want als je de douchecel inging, dan stelde hij op de buitenkant van de deur met de wijzers van een nepklokje de tijd in. In die tijd had ik nog geen horloge en al zeker geen waterdichte :) Een gang in het Gemeenteziekenhuis is het ook niet, maar wel een gang in het badhuis aan het Vogelplein/Bankastraat.
