Want dat was bij mijn weten de burgemeesterswoning van Dubbeldam. Gérard Francois de Roo van Westmaas werd in Dordrecht geboren op 24 augustus 1884 en was burgemeester van Dubbeldam van 1914 tot 1945. Zijn vader, Henry Boudewijn de Roo, (ambachtsheer van Westmaas en Group) overleed op 21 maart 1936. Niet lang daarna (1939?) verliet de weduwe de villa aan de Krispijnseweg (winterverblijf) en vertrok voorgoed naar haar landgoed Daalhuyzen te Velp. (Het zomerverblijf was het zogenaamde 'Houten Huis' aan de Reeweg Zuid, terug te vinden op de beeldbank).
