In 1996 heeft er een behoorlijke restauratie aan het koetshuis plaatsgevonden. Toen ontbraken t.g.v. de tand des tijds een aantal balusters en was een deel bouwvallig. I.o.m. monumentenzorg zijn in 1996 gestyleerde kunstof balustraden aangevuld i.v.m. kostenbesparing. Origineel maken kan altijd nog zo dacht men en dat is wat nu kennelijk gebeurt.:)
M'n mond viel open toen ik deze zomer zag dat de balustrade op een resolute maar ook vakkundige wijze met reciprozagen werd verwijderd. Ze bleken hol en van polyester o.i.d. te zijn. Geplaatst in een tijd (jaar?) dat er blijkbaar niet voldoende financiën beschikbaar waren om dit op de juiste manier te doen. Nu is dat anders en is Natuursteenbedrijf Van der Mijle B.V. hard bezig geweest er weer iets fraais van te maken. Maar het is nog niet af. Ik mis nog het één en ander. Van de week werd de bouwsteiger afgebroken. Winterstop? Volgend jaar verder? Ben benieuwd!
