Deze villa aan de Johan de Wittstraat 10, behoorde aan F.H. van Gijn, de laatste bewoonster was de weduwe Van Gijn, daarna ging het over in handen van het Leger des Heils (1935) die het ombouwden tot een bejaardenhuis (Avondzon). De Gaay Fortman heeft op nr. 12 gewoond, in de Villa Benvenuta en niet vanaf 1923, maar vanaf ca 1929-1930. Zijn eerste ambtswoning was aan de Dubbeldamscheweg 38 (tussen de Toulonselaan en het Oranjepark). De tussenliggende villa was Villa Flora, eerder Villa Flava aan de Kon. Wilhelminastraat 34. Hier heeft wél een burgemeester gewoond, namelijk de heer Bleeker. Op deze foto rechts zien we wat er voor die villa in de plaats is gekomen, een groot flatgebouw met in de plint een hoop bedrijvigheid met hier op de hoek de Ned. Middenstandsbank N.V. (552_319476) en Ames, de autodealer, iets verderop. Zie 554_31535 en 554_31533, relevant, maar ook niet correct beschreven.
