Uit de Dordrechtsche Courant van 8-7-1916: "Gemeenteraad van Dordrecht. Voorstel van B. en W. nopens bebouwing van terrein in het Oranjepark. Bij uw besluit van30 April 1912 nr. 13 werd aan den heer D. Brand Azn. verkocht een terrein in het Oranjepark, gelegen tusschen de door den heer Brand gebouwde villa en de H. B. School en wel voor den bouw van een villa-blok bestaande uit drie aaneengesloten huizen. De heer Brand heeft gevraagd om in afwijking van dit besluit te mogen bouwen t w e e blokken bestaande elk uit twee heerenhuizen, ingevolge als is aangewezen op de voor U ter inzage gelegde teekeningen. Aangezien tegen inwilliging van dit verzoek bij ons college geen bezwaren bestaan hebben wij de eer U voor te stellen de gevraagde afwijking toe te staan en te vergunnen daar ter plaatse te bouwen zooals op bovenbedoelde tekening is aangegeven."
