Links en rechts van dat pand zit zo'n zelfde poort. Ergens tussen medio 1916 en 1919 is men Achterhakkers gaan nummeren zoals gebruikelijk bij een éénzijdige bebouwing. Dus i.p.v. 2, 4, 6 etc. naar 1, 2, 3, etc. Dat had tot gevolg dat 18 werd 10, 20 werd 11 en 22 werd 12. Tegenwoordig is die laatste met 72 genummerd en kennen we als "Hotel Dordrecht". Op het rechts gelegen pand, nr. 73, vind je nog een bordje 23. Johan: Graag gedaan :)
Het pand werd gebouwd op de plek waar kort ervoor het voormalige pand van Frans Lebret was afgebroken. Het linker deel werd genummerd met 10 het rechter deel betreft een beneden,- en bovenwoning genummerd met 10a zwart en voor de bovenwoning met 10a rood. 12-9-1955 vond er een vernummering plaats 10 werd 8 en 10a zwart werd 9 en 10a rood werd 10. Vandaag zijn deze panden respectievelijk 68, 69 en 70 genummerd. Bij nummer 69, de benedenwoning, zit het oude nummerbordje 9 nog op de gevel. Cornelis van den Heuvel, geb. 03-08-1883 te Sliedrecht overleed op 01-04-1966 en was gehuwd met Cornelia Wilhelmina van Putten en was bevrachter van beroep en dreef daarbij jarenlang een zand,- & grindhandel. Hij was eerder gehuwd met Teuntje Bezemer, zij overleed op 2-12-1948. Een stukje verderop richting Wilgenbos was er inderdaad een zaadhandel, maar daar had Cornelis niets mee van doen. Of er een verband is tussen de twee genoemde mannen Van Den Heuvel weet ik niet.
Was Cees v.d. Heuvel familie van H.v.d. Heuvel van foto 552_302133. Wie kan mij vertellen welk pand Achterhakkers no. 10 exact is en of er sprake was van een onderlinge familierelatie tussen de twee heren.
