DBNL.org: Sickenga (Mr. Folkertinus Nicolaas), geb. 27 December 1840 te Wolvega, studeerde in de rechten te Leiden en promoveerde in 1864, waarna hij als praktizeerend advocaat te Leiden bleef wonen, totdat hij in September 1865 leeraar in de Staatswetenschappen aan de Hoogere Burgerschool te Dordrecht werd. Hij bedankte voor die betrekking in 1869, en trad twee jaar daarna op als een van de beide Directeurs der Dordtsche onderlinge Crediet-vereeniging. Hij schreef: Bijdragen tot de geschiedenis der belastingen in Nederland, van den aanvang tot de omwenteling 1795; I en II. Leid. 1864; Geschiedenis der Nederlandsche belastingen, tijdvak der Omwenteling, Algemeen stelsel van het jaar 1805. Amst. 1865; Beginselen van handels- en algemeen burgerlijk recht, 's-Hage 1865. Verder verschillende artikelen in tijdschriften en dagbladen, waaronder de voortzetting der belastinggeschiedenis in de Bijdragen tot de kennis van het Nederlandsche Staatsbestuur, getiteld: Bijdragen tot de kennis onzer financiën.
27-12-1840 geboren te Wolvega - 15-10-1916 overleden te 's-Gravenhage. Begraven te Dordrecht op 18-10-1916. Mede-directeur van de Onderlinge Credietvereniging te Dordrecht.
